What is the easiest way to replace a knock sensor on a ford 5.4 2001 E350 Van? Do you have to take off the intake completely, or can you just unbolt it and left it up an inch?

The knock sensor on this vehile is located nearthe top of the engine on the right (passenger) side. The intake does not need to come off at all.
On an E-350, it is pretty easy to get to. The hardest part is getting the dog house off.

Maybe the timing is off, could ir be that you accidently moved the distributor while replacing the cap and rotor? If you have acces to a timing light give it a try. Good Luck.
