Question about 1991 Nissan Pickup
Hi. I have 1990 Nissan Pickup V6 SE with AT. The truck has 160 000 miles on it. It won't shift into reverse. The shifter moves in to all positions and shifting cable works. It also does not want to shift from 1 to 2. It shifts when you accelerate and then I lift the gas pedal like you would shift manual transmission. Someone told me that this may be the servos on the throttle body but i cant find them on the truck or on the pictures or illustrations in the book. I have the Haynes repair manual but it says that this is too complicated for regular people to understand. I understand that the AT is shifted electrically so the servo might be responsible for shifting from 1 to 2 but is the reverse shifted mechanically.
If you are going to just replace the valve body then there is no need to remove the transmission. All other repairs will require removal of the transmission from the vehicle.
