Hi, on the 3800 motor you can find the oil filter located on the passenger side of the engine, sort of behind the right front wheel. Good luck!

If it is not on the front of the motor, it is more than likely on the back of the motor. Just jack up the car (be sure to put a jack stan under for safety) then crawl under and you will find it

Can oil filter on 1993 buick regal gs 3800 be relocated

If you are an experience mechanic you can relocate the oil filter, you would have to buy a conversion plate and hoses and brackets to move the filter. You can buy on-line from JC Whitney catalog company at www.jcwhitney.com you can also find them at the better parts stores like Nappa auto parts. There are others but I don't know what part of the country you live in it's hard to say which one to choose. If you choose to install a remote filter be sure to read the directions on mounting the filter and be sure the lines are tight If this installation leaks you can kiss your engine good by. Hope this helps and thanks for using fix-ya

There is oil in my coolant overflow of my 93 Buick regal. The car has not over heated and there is no coolant in the oil when I drained it. Head gasket or could it be something else?

A common problem is the intake gaskets. Have the system pressure tested or look at the front or very rear of the engine and see if there is coolant leaking down. The gaskets for this engine are about $100 in a kit and the labor takes about 4 hours to complete. You will also need to replace the oil, filter, coolant, and if you need instructions, let me know.

Does a 1993 buick regal take 5w 30 oil

Yes this is the best oil for the car if you are in an environment when the temperature changes form freezing to warm through out the year. If it is never freezing where the car is driven you can use 10w-30 also.

Good Luck,

Valve noise on Buick Regal 3800 engine--may not be getting oil to left bank.

It get oil from the camshaft-lifter oil galleries. What is the oil pressure lbs.? You probably have a stopped up oil pick up strainer in the oil pan. Always use a delco filter and not a fram filter.
