Question about 2000 Hyundai Accent

1 Answer

I want to remove the 100amp fusible link on my 2000 Accent. Does it just pull out upward or do i have to loosen the bolts on the side? i cannot tell if the bolts hold in the link or the fuse box itself. Will the local auto part store be able to tell if it is blown? I am a Grandma with some auto knowledge but cant figure this one out! thanks for any help!!! PS removing this cause car wont start even tho it cranks-have gas and accessories turn on

thanks silver top. i will try the fuel shut off switch. Son in law thinks there is no spark but he used brass coated nail in spark plug to test, ? questionable move there!! Car was running fine two days ago. bought new battery 08/08. any chance of timing belt problem? that was replaced at about 70k miles 92 k miles now been running fine

o2 sensors replaced 1 yr ago.are there other fuses i might check? This is very much a cost issue as i cant afford any bill esp from mechanic or is still under powertrain warranty.

SilverTop, checked fuses marked ignition and battery- they are good. Not in location you said but looked at the schematic on top of the relay box under hood to see locations. Will try disconnect of battery cable tomorrow to see if it resets immobiliser chip(don't think 2000 Accent has this as it doesnt seem to be mentioned in troubleshooting pages for hyundai)- also +pole is corroded but i have power in interior so dont think battery is true problem. Thanks, Pat

hi thanks for update if you have no spark? it may be ign fuse ecu2 10amp red on inner panel above bonnet release fuse 1/2 way down 2nd column i think but check em all? also the hyundai's have immobiliser which is a chip in the ign key do you have a master key with the car? normally provided when bought new ? if so it is normally blue?as my wifes is?for her getz and her prev car was the accent try this? if you disconnect battery wait 10 mins then reconnect immob may reset on ecu? for your info apparently some accents do have immob problems and some where on this board? there is someone who had this problem and solved it diy! last week it does sound like the immob is acting up and preventing ign to plugs? however have never had such trouble with wifes hyundais re immobs but i will make enquires about reseting and get back to you asap if i find out pretty sure it involves key in ign and pressing the trip meter button on speedo in a sequence ?

you have to reset the ecm code , when you removed the fuse the ecm registered this as a loss of voltage and threw a code so now it doesn't know that the fuse has been replaced. you need a scan tool to reset the ecm...please rate the solution...thanks

Hi, I was wondering how I get the speaker covers off of my 2000 hyundai accent...4 door sedan? There in the back and there seems to be no way of taking them off without breaking them. Also, do i need...

You have to remove the rear dash board. the covers don't come off. Remove the bottom seat first, then there will be 2 bolts to remove the back rest. Then you can access the speakers. To remove the bottom usually push it back and pull up where you sit you ****, on both sides.

How to take the alternator off?

I did this recently on Hyundai Accent. First things first is to disconnect the battery to prevent any contact that can produce sparks during the disconnection of the positive (+) supply of the alternator 1. Jack up car. Remove splash guards from bottom. 2. From bottom loosen pivot bolt. 3. From bottom disconnect cables. 4. From top loosen adjustment bolt and slacken belt. 5. Remove belt from pulley and remove adjustment bolt. 6. From bottom remove pivot bolt. 7. Alternator may have corroded to mounting bracket so work it loose. 8. Find out alternator will not slide out of engine compartment. 9. Loosen radiator mounting bolts. 10. Shift radiator to side to make more room to get alternator out. 11. Install alternator. 12. Put radiator back in its place.
I guess it depends on what year... I too just did an alternator on a 2001 Accent. First, and what the previous forgot, disconnect the negative battery cable. Steps 1 thru 5 are exact. Step 6 is where we differ. 6. From bottom, push alternator up and out of mounting slot, gently work it down and out. 7. The pivot bolt can then be punched out (my bolt had a center mark where a punch would stay, so not to damage the threads) and then put into the replacement. Re-assemble in reverse order.
Last night I did this repair on 1999 accent. a 10mm and 12mm sockets and end wrenches are needed. After trying to wiggle the alternator up through the top, I was afraid of damaging other electrical connections, so I took the oil filter off. It was time for an oil change anyway, but just removing the filter only lost maybe half a quart of oil. The local autozone had an alternator for 129.99, lifetime warranty.

How do I remove the engine cover on a 2008 acadia to access the power steering reservoir?

Hi, viewer! Remove first the engine oil cover (yellow?) turn it conterclockwise to loosen out. Then pull the cover upwards from side to side. There are no bolts, just pull carefully upwards with enough force to get past the retaining clips underneath the cover. Was that okay? I hope you be alright, goodluck! : )

I need the fuse box diagram for a 2004 325xi bmw

2004 BMW 325XI AWD 2.5L EFI DOHC 6cyl

Fusible links are often identified by the color coding of the insulation. Refer to the accompanying illustration for wire link size and color.

Fig. Common fusible link color coding

Circuit Breakers - Resetting & Replacement
Circuit breakers are located inside the fuse panel. They are automatically reset when the problem corrects itself, is repaired, or the circuit cools down to allow operation again.

Fuses Replacement
Use the provided plastic fuse puller located in the fuse panel to remove fuses. The upper lid of the fuse panel has a diagram of the fuse locations and amperage ratings for each circuit. The fuse is removed by simply pulling upward on the fuse with the removal tool.

The fuses are easily checked by visual inspection. With the ignition switch OFF pull the fuse out of the holder. Check the fuse filament. It should be continuous and not broken. If the filament is broken, replace the fuse with one of the same amperage rating.

The fuse and relay box on the E30 and E36 models is located in the engine compartment. The E36 models also has relay boxes located under the left side of the dashboard.

The diagram is in section 610 of the Bentley Manual. Some have downloaded it through a link provided here:

Good luck.

Just want to replace the belt do i have to remove the alternator

Back in 2000 Hyundai did not use automatic tensioners on the 2000 accent. You have to loosen the bolt on the side of the tensioner. Then you turn the other bolt counter clockwise to loosen the bolt which will loosen the tensioner. Then you have to loosen the big bolt that is on the other side of the alternator. You may have to take off your power steering belt to get to the alternator belt. Now do the opposite to install your belt.
I hope this helps.
