Turn key on and listen for fuel pump to run, if not check fuse box under hood, ecm b fuse, if blown replace fuel pump and fuse

I can hear the fuel pump when i turn the key on.there is spark to the plugs.it will fire when i pour gas down the intake.but will not stay running.why?

Check the linkages something is not allowing you to disengage the transfer case. Try shifting it again and back up. Some of these need to disengage in reverse. Make sure you start this process with it in neutral.

first check the fuel pressure regulator
that could cause abnormal fuel pressure.
then check injector could be stuck open.
if stuck open replace it.

My 2004 Chevy suburban won't start but there is a locked padlock on dashboard , is this why?


sound like problem in the theft security systm,try this insert another key in the ignition switch, the other key could be worn where pcm and bcm dont recognize it. and switch ignition on engine off watch padlock symbol with ignition switch left on 10 minutes the padlock symbol will extinguish or turn off then you will turn off ignition switch wait 5 seconds then try starting vechicle if start your theft security failing need let dealership check it out.

I had the similar problem with my 99 suburban. I replaced the blower switch and works just fine.

could possibly be either cam position sensor or the crank position sensor if the fuel pump doesnt read the signal from them it will not start
