Brake master cylinder pistion is oxidizing. disassyble, clean, coat aluminum piston with aluminum anti-ox and reinstall. it's more common than thought, just takes dealerships to figure it out sometimes.

Brakes keep locking up on 1999 f250

Sounds to me like you could have some brake hose problems. When you apply the brakes the fluid leaks inside the hose and locks the calipers. After it set awhile it bleeds of itself. That is also the case when you open a bleeder.

It could be one hose or all of them. Most likely one of the main hoses.

did you bleed all four wheels or just front, and yes the rubber lines can go bad internally and act like check valves, let fluid one way but not the other.

About the only thing left is to replace the caliper. I've seen a few times, but not common. Piston gets bound on corrosion in caliper and doesn't retract completely.

Good question, on the antilock system is a bleader too and bleade it the same way you bleade the caliper. After all is done adjust the rear brakes, they should have a drag to them.

sounds like a bad master cylinder, next time brakes are locking up , open bleeder screw and see if that releases brake at that wheel if it does then replace master cylinder, good luck.

Front brakes draging and over heating

This one had me stumped for a while. The above solution should work. The reason a brake hose can cause this is that if they over-crimp the piece of metal in the middle of the brake hose that holds it in place and/or the rubber in the hose swells too much as it ages, the passage through the hose can close off where it goes through that metal piece. Once this happens, the brake brake fluid can still force its way through the hose when you step on the brake, but the caliper will be unable to fully release. This will overheating everything and cause the brake pads to wear very quickly.
