Re: 1990 corvette engine light came on and engine died...
I don't know if I have the solution, but check your injectors. My 90 Vette died on the highway, I thought fuel pump right away, that wasn't it. After I went through my punch list I took it in....an injector was fouling up the computer. The mechanic disconnected it and it ran.

1st I'll need to know what the problem is with them exactly, won't flip up, headlight bulbs are not turning on but light carriages do flip into the up position?? What? What work have you done if any to try and repair whatever this problem is with the headlights? Throw me a bone here, I own a 1996 C4 now and have rebuilt another (84) from a rolling wreak. I know thwe problems wit the lights.
After an oil change, or when "CHANGE OIL"
appears on the Trip Monitor, with the ignition on and engine off, press the
"ENG MET" button (located on trip monitor) once. Press the "ENG MET" button
again within 5 seconds. Within 5 seconds, press and hold the "RANGE" button
(1990-1994) or "GAUGES" button (1995). The light will flash. When it stops
flashing and goes out, the system is reset.
Hope this helps and just keep in mind that your feedback is important

Do the lights come on (dash)? Is the battery up? Is it in park? Try moving the gear selector through the neutral range while holding the key in the start position. If it cranks, the neutral safety switch is out of adjustment or going bad. If the dash lights go out when you hit start, the battery termanals need cleaned (baking soda & hot water & a brush). If the dash lights never come on, do you even have a battery and is it hooked up (including the ground strap between engine and frame)? Ray (garage owner)
Replace the crank sensor as they get hot they will sometimes quit working. The temp light comes on everytime the engine is turned off and the switch is on. Next time it dies spray or pour some water on the sensor then see if it will crank and if it does you know what it is.
