Question about 1996 Dodge Caravan

96 dodge caravan weird problems

Our 96 Dodge Caravan's horn does not work. It started there and now our turn signals do not work about 3/4 of the time. The reverse lights do not light up after you take your foot off of the brake in reverse. personally, I think it may be a fuse, but if anyone has any suggestions as to what it may be please let me know. Would these things be all connected to one another, or are they wiring?

I suppose your problem isnt all that strange.
My 96 Caravan has the exact same symptoms. I've yet to find the cause of them.
Usually when this happens I turn my 4 ways on and off while driving and the blinkers start working again. Also now the problem has progressed into the door beeping as if it were ajar when it is clearly closed. I have to crack the door a hair (unlatch it) to get it to stop.

All of these problems could be caused by a bad ground if all the systems you are talking about use a common ground.

I have a 96 dodge caravan my horn is not working and airbag light is on please help...

If your horn is not working and your airbag light is on, then your cruise control definitely is not working too. This is cause by a faulty "clockring" underneath the airbag on the steering wheel. There is a recall for this clockring, make sure you mention this to dealer otherwise you will be charged $250+. I own a 1996 Dodge Caravan SE, 3.0L and luckily I received a recall notice few weeks after I went to the dealer for a diagnostics of the problem. I wasn't ready to pay for this amount and I'm glad I got it fixed for free. Enjoy.

Fuse box,, relays ?

Disconnect the battery for a minute or two and reconnect it. Sometimes the BCM (body control module) locks up.
