Question about 2002 Volkswagen Passat
Once the alarm is set, you can touch the car, try to open doors from the outside and the alarm does not sound. However, if you sit in the car long enough for the alam to set, it will sound when you open the doors to get out.
Hi, you will need to get someone with vag diagnostics to plug your car in. Someone with vag-com software.
If you were near me we can do it.
Your system probably just needs reset as this is usually the case for a lot of our customers that come to the garage with VW car alarm problems.
Once the faults are read then saved & the car cleared of all logged faults the system should be 100% unless that there is a fault in the system that will show up again.
A local dealer should have your car diagnosed in 15mins & faults cleared so it should be no longer than half an hour.
Any longer & they are milking you of a few $/£ more. Unless they are doing a full electrics run (about 40mins on laptop max)
Hope this is of help.
