Re: Remove the Passenger side door frame on a 2002 Ford...
Lift up on the switch plate until it snaps out ,remove the bolt from under there and the bolts along the bottom of the panel. There may be a few others so look around. When all are removed lift up on the door panel(DO NOT pull towards you it will destroy the panel). Your mirror is now accessible.

You can access the inside mounting bolts by removing the panel just inside of the passenger mirror...the electric plug can be unplugged without any other changes...Your mirror is of course available through your local Ford dealer...you can also try the internet to find a like new replacement mirror and head assembly...just type in 2007 Explorer passenger side mirror...Also, your least costly replacement is available at your local salvage yard...some allow you to browse, and remove yourself...(good practise before scratching yours...some yards will pull the mirror for you...you might even find the exact color...salvage yard mirror heads (electric) go for $25. to $75. Sounds like you have a good start...Hope this helps.
1. remove the door panel by pulling lightly on the door panel.
2. remove the tweeter (small black thing in the corner of the door in front of the mirror).
3. unplug mirror if electric
4. remove the 3 mirror retaining bolts
5.replace with new mirror and reverse these steps
Aside from the fuses, your drive side power door lock may be failing to work because of a bad door-lock relay system, or, alternatively, the locking switch/button, itself, is not malfunctioning and in need of replacement.
On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle,
arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the
panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want
to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to
get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel
and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and
disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can access the bolts that secure the mirror onto the door
The fuel filter is on the passenger side under the door near the front wheel well. It is behind a curved shield and a flat plate covering the fuel filter that is marked "fuel filter replace". There is an aluminum plate held on with 3 13mm bolts. Remove it. Behind it there is a black plastic shield, held on with 2 10mm nuts. Remove that and you will see the fuel filter, and the bracket that holds it on.
