My advice to you if you have no experience you should have an auto tech handle this because even us as tech sometimes forget about things and no matter how much I guide you through this, It's very hard but yet again I'm trying to look out for you. lets just say something goes wrong then you will have to pay tow truck fee and it will be double. just shop around but you don't have to take my advice I'm just trying to help. what car? and year>? and country , so we can look it up in our
great online sources. (all 3 must be known)
in the USA we use alldata.com (or the dealer FSM)

i guess you dont know that some heads are not torqued, or use TTY bolts, right? some are set by ANGLE degree.
that is covered in the FSM all that. the facts.
most head failures result from guessing.
or asking here, with no facts on car.
some engine run different heads, and different if turbo.

case in point, all this Mitsubishi engines

The two outside pistons do not fire on my 99 eclipse. it has the 2.0L non-turbo.


1 and 4 fire on the same time ,but if gasket gone then this would cause problems take the head off and stop messing around

I have a 1997 eclipse non turbo 2.0 liter 16 valve . it wont start up and it tries to start up but white smoke comes out of the exhause and the oil is white but black in the inside . some people say its a...


yeah, its your head gasket. the oil looks like that because it has coolant mixed in with it. it will try to start because its getting fuel and spark but no/not enough compression.

Have you checked compression on non firing cylinders? Likely has blown head gasket between these two cylinders if located side by side.
