Hi from the uk the fact your clutch fluid was low? indicates that you have a leak most probably the slave cylinder ? this is the one at g/box that works clutch or the master cylinder this is the one at pedal ? if either cyl leaks then air also can enter the system so look around each cylinder for leaks? if vehicle is needed then for now you will need to bleed air from the slave cyl bleed nipple i suggest you open bleed nipple 2 or 3 turns then remove cap from reservoir flui will emit from nipple eventually in a constant flow then close nipple and top up res then try pedal by pumping? may improve?? but if not then best advice is if leak is from slave cyl? renew it then bleed as above? ps if leak is actually from master cyl? dripping inside near pedal then change both cylinders it is easy d i y job i am sure you can overcome hope this helps? you can try for parts at local motor stores not necessarilly the dealers? and save $$$$s in garage costs? don't forget a bottle of new fluid? for bleeding

The cylinder was empty this morning in the 1990 pathfinder for the clutch, pedal went to floor, filled master cylinder and holding fluid but pedal is still on floor. What to do....

you need to inspect the clutch hydraulic system to look for a leak.check in the truck were the master cylinder bolts to the firewall as if the master is leaking out the back it will show up the leak in this area.check around the master under the hood to see if there are signs of it leaking.check at the transmission were the slave cylinder is as this is another place they leak.if you have to fill the master because its empty there is a leak somewhere.you also may need the clutch replaced as the slave cylinder moves out to adjust for wear of the clutch which will lower the fluid level but not cause it to be empty.you will have to bleed the clutch system at the slave cylinder, there should be a bleeder screw to do this.if you find the leak in the clutch system you will have to replace the system as some come complete master lines and slave.some come with just the slave, lines, master as separate components.

1990surf clutch wont return from floor all the time wont disingage?? what the pedal ajustment free play??Ralphy

the pedal freeplay should be about a quarter of an inch. This is the area the pedal travels before the first amount of pressure is applied. have you checked your clutch fluid? if its low you should scope for leaks, check the master cylinder and slave cylinder, pull back the rubber boot and check for any fluids. i would do this only if the fluid is low. have you had any clutch work done recently?

1987 Maxima-5 speed is difficult to grt in to gear--How to adjust clutch and check clutch hydraulic fluid?

TO ADJUST PEDAL HEIGHT ADJUST WITH A STOPPER LIMITING THE UPWARD TRAVEL OF THE PEDAL.PEDAL FREE PLAY IS ADJUSTED AT THE MASTERCYLINDER PUSH ROD.IF PUSH ROD IS NON ADJUSTABLE FREE PLAY IS ADJUSTED BY PLACING SHIMS BETWEEN THE MASTERCYLINDER AND THE FIREWALL.ON A FEW MODELS PEDAL FREE PLAY CAN ALSO BE ADJUSTED AT THE OPERATING SLAVE CYLINDER PUSHROD.PUSHRODS ARE AVAILABLE IN THREE LENGTHS FOR THE 310.PEDAL HEIGHT ABOVE FLOOR IS 6.73 - 7.13 INCH PEDAL FREE PLAY IS 0.04 - 0.12 INCH.YOU HAVE CLUTCH FLUID LONG AS YOU SEE BRAKE FLUID IN MASTERCYLINDER.IF MASTERCYLINDER LOW YOU HAVE TO BLEED THE THE CLUTCH MASTERCYLINDER BY LOCATING BLEED SCREW ON SLAVE CYLINDER. REMOVE THE BLEED SCREW DUST CAP.ATTACH A CLEAR TUBE TO THE BLEED SCREW.PUT OTHER END OF CLEAR TUBE IN A CLEAN CONTAINER OF BRAKE FLUID.FILL THE MASTERCYLINDER WITH BRAKE FLUID.OPEN BLEED SCREW 3/4 A TURN.DEPRESS CLUTCH PEDAL QUICKLY.HOLD IT DOWN.HAVE A HELPER TIGHTEN THE BLEED SCREW.ALLOW PEDAL TO RETURN SLOWLY.BLEEDER SCREW TORQUE IS 5 - 6 FT LBS.IF YOU SEE AIR BUBBLES CLEAR BLEED TUBE.REPEAT THE BLEED PROCESS UNTIL YOU SEE NO AIR BUBBLES.DONT LET CLUTCH MASTERCYLINDER GO DRY WHILE BLEEDING.IF SO YOU GOT START BLEEDING PROCESS ALL OVER.HOPE THIS HELP.

How do i adjust my cluth on a 2003 tacoma

The slave cylinder in these trucks makes the clutch non adjustable. If you have a soft clutch pedal which goes to the floor and can not shift as easy as it used to the slave cylinder is low on fluid or weak. Check the reservoir of the slave cylinder to see if its full. If low fill it with the recommended Power Steering fluid which is DOT3 approved I do beleive and pump the clutch pedal about 25 times with the engine off. The clutch should operate correctly. If it tends to get worse the slave cylinder needs to be replaced

Clutch pedal sticks to the floor; the brake reservoir was low

I believe your pressure plate is broken and at a minimum will have to be replaced along with the clutch disk.

My 87 Supra Turbo Clutch Pedal is sitting about 2 inches off of the floor board. The clutch itself appears to be working, I just hate that it's on the floor. I've put the clutch under heavy load while in...

I believe you have a hydraulic clutch. You may be low on fluid in the master cylinder for the clutch. If it is low, it takes regular DOT3 brake fluid. After you fill it, you might have to drive it a day or two for it to recover.

Clutch wont work

Check and make sure you have fluid in the clutch master cylinder. If it is low fill and check for leaks. Repair leaks as needed and bleed system. If fluid was full check adjustment and bleed system, if there is air in the system pedal will go to the floor.

Clutch pedal low near floor, can the clutch be adjusted?

hi the clutch on accent is hydraulic operation so if pedal is very low on disengaging clutch ? you may have a problem with the hydraulics 1st thing to check is fluid level? this is the reservoir that feeds both brakes and clutch but is seperaterated inside if fluid low? top up and bleed the slave cyl however if fluid low indicates a leak ? possibly slave cyl? if no loss of fluid ? then prob may be fault in the master cyl ? check fluid come back with any update please ps if this problem has just occured? check for leaks ?
