Hot means what it says, hot. You have very likely burned out an engine.

'80 Monte Carlo, a good ride. A Chilton's book is a good investment. It will show you wiring and vacuum hoses and how to do the brakes, etc.

SOURCE: 2002 chevy monte carlo won't start

this vehicle is equipped with a factory anti theft system if when you try to start the engine and the anti theft light is on then the starter won't start even if your check engine light is not on you would have to scan the body module to pin point the problem to see if it's the anti theft system or the starter, go to a auto parts store like auto zone or pep boys or western auto these store offer free scanning to there customers. if this information has been helpful please let use know good luck

SOURCE: 2001 chevy monte carlo is overheating when driving

Hi;
If your engine cools down when moving fast, you either have a problem with your water pump or your electric fans that cool off your radiator and a/c condenser. This is controlled by a temperature switch, but these fans should kick on instantly when A/C is selected.

2002 Chevy monte Carlo. When I turn the heater on it makes a loud noise and causes the rpm's to go low. When I try to step on the gas there's no power. Why is it doing this?

Check the charging system with a load and without a load,your blower motor takes alot of power to turn on so charging and battery needs to be check also with the battery terminals especially on the positive post

2001 Monte Carlo has about 168,000 miles on it. Stopped for awhile left engine running and car smelled like gas (propane like smell). Recently "low Coolant" light has come on and then gone off...

Some of these issues are unrelated. One thing to look at is the condition of the turn signal switch and the ignition switch. The low coolant light has a TSB from Chevy on the issue and it says to check and clean the sensor. The sensor is on the radiator and has to be removed. The sensor can become contaminated with engine oil, check for oil in the coolant if that is present then you need to find the source of the oil and correct the problem. This problem could be serious like a head gasket issue. That would explain the loss of power and the smell.

Warning light on my 1997 Monte Carlo

register for yahoo.com if you don't have a user name there. Then go to chevy.com ( you have to have a yahoo id name to log into the chevy site) Then register your car make and model. Once you have done that you can look at your cars owner's manual and it will tell you what each light is on the insturment panel and from there hopefully you can determine what is wrong.
