Will my mechanical fuel pump work if I disconnect the power to my in-tank electric fuel pump? Can I remove my return line and vapor line?

most likely not as it will not be able to draw fuel through the electric pump .Well most vehicles with fuel injection and a pump in the tank i cannot draw the fuel through when someone has filled with diesel or the vehicle has been parked up for a while and the fuel goes dead

Wheres the fuel pump located in my 1982 460 ford holiday rambler motorhome????

One of them is on the front lower side of the engine block just aft of the timing chain cover. (this is the mechanecal pump). The other pump is electric and is located just in front of the gas tank and is near a fuel filter. There is probably a fuel pressure regulator located just behind the passenger side front wheel as well.

I have a 1990 chevrolet sierra 1500 while driving it will sometime act as if it loses gas flow. it won't go dead it's still running if i ease off excellarator it responds it might do it again or if i'm...

I would go with the fuel pump and filter. If you keep the tank low the fuel pump overheats and does not last long. The gas in the tank is used to cool the fuel pump on all new cars. Filter first then pump. The only other item may be the TPS, Throttle position sensor which may not throw a code, On newer cars it can also be the gas peddle as it's fly by wire. The resistor goes bad. Easy to use a plug in to monitor the position of the peddle.

A 460 engine that acts like its not getting enough fuel. Will start but runs as if only on half the cylinders missing badly or such.

Check your running fuel pump pressure. If (as I suspect) it's too low, first try changing your fuel filter. After changing the filter, recheck the running fuel pump pressure. If still low, check you fuel pump pressure regulator. If OK, you may need a new fuel pump.

Also probably would be a good idea to replace you air filter.

Good luck!
