I bought a brand new trailer and the dome light doesn't work when plugged into my truck. It works fine when plugged directly into a battery. The running lights, turn indicators and brake lights all work, just not the inside dome. Is it possible that the plug has a second fuse in the panel? My trailer guy says I need another fuse. My truck repair shop says they've never hear of such a thing, needing a separate fuse for one trailer plug. Thank you!

Look under the hood in the power distribution box.Should be another fuse...

7 way connector, running lights, including license plate light, should be a brown wire. Check the back of the plug receiver on the truck, u are going to have to follow it to see if it's mashed, cut, not connected properly to connector, or loose, corroded, or dirty connections at any splice. That should be the problem. Let me know what u find.

If you have amber signal lights & red brake lights, it's 2 separate circuits. You'll need to buy a small converter that you wire into harness to correct that. Not expensive, try autoparts store or RV/trailer sales, should have them.

most of the time its tied into the tail light set up.

All ford juntion boxes are under the hood next to the brake booster
