yeah you can use them parts from your donor car, but when you install airbag and controller it has to be resetted anyway with some fault code reader. Better change the seat as well, they are integrated in the seat I dont think that will be easy to change seat airbag, but I could be wrong
pull up the front of cushion on either side in turn, put your fingers under the front edge about 10 inches from outer edge you will feel a little plastic lever, you slide to one side, repeat for other side you can then remove seat cushion.
BEFORE doing any of my suggestions read up about working on the airbag system and DISSCONNECT the vehicle battery and go and have a cuppa while the system discharges. Airbags go off like an explosion and injury could occur. Moving on: Your fault is most likely a faulty passenger presence seat pad located inside the passenger seat. The pads degrade with age. It could also be simply a bad connection ot the pre-tensioner module. I've had both faults. Again disconnect the battery as the pretensioner is an explosive charge device. Get a cheap (tenner on ebay) OBD2 bluetooth diagnostic unit and download a free app such as Torque Lite. You can then interrogate the cars computer using your phone or tablet and read the fault codes. A garage will read them but charge you 30 quid upwards to read them. Youtube has info about a mod to avoid having to spend over 100 quid for a new seat mat. The Occupancy seat sensor is to prevent the passenger side airbag deploying in an accident if no passenger is present. The mod simply makes it always deploy. Oxidation of contacts in the connectors to any safety device can cause the car to log a fault code and show warning lights. Removal and reconnection of plugs and sockets can cure this poor connection. Again DISCONNECT the battery before working on the vehicle. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. You will then have to reset the fault codes stored before the airbag light will go off. This can be done using your phone or tablet with suitable software.
2005 Towncar SRS Code 33 (3 flash + 3 flash, repeat this set for twice. then Beep 5 times pause x 5 = 25 beeps every 30min).
This means you have problem with left (Driver) side pretentioner (Seat belt retract system). It doesn't mean physical belt or retract mechanism. It is just bomb wiring which is part of airbag system. When airbag deploy, passenger must stay tight in seat otherwise body lean to front then slam back to seat by airbag. if belt is loose or delay to lock, passenger's body rocks back and forth. So, system use small bomb (Fire power) to lock and retract seat belt when airbag deploy. There is small bomb and igniter in part of Seat belt retractor. Code 33 is warning for this part on 2005 Towncar.(older model is different meaning in Ford/Lincoln, it's possibly passenger side airbag system for earlier model) Before you work for any part of Airbag system and touch any "Yellow connector", * *Disconnect battery (negative side is good enough) and wait at least 5 min to clear all power in system**.(Airbag store back up power for few minutes to be able to deploy even in case if power disconnected) by the way, you should move your driver seat most forwarded position before you disconnect battery to make it easy to work with seat belt. locate driver side seat belt retractor (in center pillar between front and rear door, you may have to fight with weather strip)
Locate Yellow connector on bottom of Seat belt retractor (it's called "Pretensioner")it is located on very bottom of rear side of retractor. only one yellow connector. (make sure your battery is disconnected) Check its physical connection or looseness.if connection looks fine, you may have to replace whole seat belt ($180-$200 in Lincoln dealer) You can check if pretensionor is good or bad by regular tester, but unless you know how, I won't tell (because I don't wan't you to blow out pretentionor).
Thay will make you pay for the seat and airbag and a new airbag module you can save money by buying the used seat with airbag at a junk yard and sand out your airbag unit for repair abt $50 more info on all airbag how to go to http://www.vehix411.com
u will have to replace those vehicle impact sensors...remember some vehicles are different . never had to do it the past doesnt always mean its not the problem now...there is also more than those 2 front impact sensors in that vehicle..i know there are a couple inside the vehicle as well. under the front carpet and seats..the impact sensors inside the car are for ur side impact airbags and can be bad or reading deployed even if they didnt blow..good luck ...
Do you have anything under the drivers seat? Fords will put the airbag module under the seat, if anything is packed around it, it can cause the airbag light to come on. Remove any items around it and check the connectors are firmly in place.
