Ignition switch disassembled. 12V in and 12V out to the different posts as key is moved.

2 fusible links on + battery cable show 12V coming through. Are there others?

Are there relays or fuses downstream from the ignition switch?

Thanks for the help so far!

Right fender; 5 relays; back to front:
Fuel pump; EGI; A/C; Clutch Inhibit; Horn

    No IGN relay...

Also, no dash lights when turning key to ACC/On; no power....

What is small brown box on firewall below wiper motor?

Sounds like you are not getting ignition power. Have you checked all the fusable links under the hood? Could be an ignition switch as well.

There is an ignition relay, but I don't have my wiring schematics here with me. There should be a relay box under the hood on the right side with relays, see if the one labeled IGN clicks.

My 1995 Nissan Altima won't start. Has lights, power etc - tried to boost anyway, with no luck. No clicking like a starter problem. Tried moving gear shift, still not turning over.

Try this : Turn the head lights on , try and start the engine . Carefully watch the headlights , if they dim some what you have a starter problem . If the headlights go off replace the battery . If the headlights stay bright you have an open circuit problem .

If the latter is the case I would recommend looking at the inhibitor switch which is located on the automatic transmission . This would usually be the problem .

Will not start or turn over. its like it isnt getting any power to anything. battery is fully charged and new if that helps. you put the key in and nothing. no door chime, dome light, headlights, or...

Does the horn honk? Headlight come on? Emergency flashers? If these things work it's time to check fuses. If they dont work you have a failure in the electrical system. Check the main fuse block under the hood or a shop needs to be visited.

Get a clicking sound when I try to start my 1995 Nissan Pathfinder

Check ALL your connections. Take each Batt terminal off and scrape them or buy a Batt. brush from parts store/cheap 7 bucks. If you can jump it it may be the Batt. has just gone.. Clicking means you have a bad connection or the Batt is shot.

Does not start. the startter doe not even clkick.

Check with battery tester that battery is good. If it is not, you will get only light power but not cranking power. If you have a bad starter relay or your cable connections are not metal to metal contact will also cause this to happen. Check connections on solenoid and take a screwdriver and jump screwdriver across solenoid terminals to see if starter turnns over. Power must be on.

1995 nissan pu wont start... everything turns on

check for power to the starter at the starter's connectors while you have someone turn the key. If there is power, change the starter. If not check your ignition switch, (manual trans)clutch pedal switch, and starter fuses/relays. Hopefully this helps

Do the interior chimes and headlights turn on when you turn the key in the ignition???? We have a 95 Riv that gave us the same problem. Occassionally we have to put the key in the ignition, turn it on, move the steering column up and down (sometimes roughly) until the chimes etc. come on (some security thing) then the car will start.
