Question about 2001 Mitsubishi Montero Sport 4WD
I can shift it into FWD but the green light does not come on and I don't believe it is kicking into FWD.
There is an electronic switch underneath in the linkage I believe that becomes corroded if not used frequently on my 2001 Montero Sport. At the start of each Winter season, I have to work the 4X4 lever to get the green light on. I then drive around holding the lever in position to keep the light on. I shift in and out several times as well. After the first time out in 4X4, it comes on and stays on the rest of the season. You are correct about the green 4X4 indicator light. If it is not on, you are not in 4 wheel drive
