Sounds like to me you have a faulty EGR vacuum solenoid which regulates the vacuum pressure sent to the EGR valve.

Check engine code#401

Your 401 code relates to the EGR system, vacuum hose leaks are more common for code setting. Also check vacuum modulator as they are known to faile more often than egr valve. If all check out o.k. and there are no exhaust leaks, suspect e.c.m. (computer) problem.
You may just want to check your gas cap also and make sure there is not any air coming through or it will throw off the sensor. Just a quick cheap check. (You may need to change it)

Engine check light, code 401 low egr vacum egr

The EGR and the lift sensor may look perfect from the outside but the under side of the EGR valve and the EGR passage (small tube) are the REAL WORKING parts.

The carbon inside the EGR passage tube and the underside of the EGR valve must to clean out.

Make sure you has a NEW EGR gasket before you start the job.

It's a 2-3 hours job.

If you do not clean the EGR passage tube the Nox emission will get higher (check you past emission reports).

1997 ford explorer check engine lite is on.Code says low pressure in egr but ive replaced the egr valve and egr pressure sensor no luck

you probably have blocked passages in the intake manifold. remove the egr and check the port for a clog. you can scrape most of the carbon out with a pick or screw driver and then use some spray carbon cleaner in there. also check the metal exhaust line to the egr

Engine error lite P0465

Replacing the EGR valve, its actuator, or your DPFE sensor could all be at fault. I would probably start with the valve itself since it's an EGR leak code. Your gas cap was a wasted repair. The gas cap would cause a P0441 or 445 evap code, but not an EGR code.
