There are three cables on the throttle body the on that is on the end closest to the hood has an adjustment screw for the trans. slide the cable off and have some one hold the gas pedal down. measure the distance by holding the cable nest to the mount it goes on. tighten till there is no slack at "full throttle" then place back on the mount. i would also take the battery off while you do this {abt. 30min} to help reset the computer... try it worked for me good luck and its free

I have a 2002 jeep grand cherokee laredo 4wd. I have a trans code of P1756 and vehicle feels like it has no power and shifts hard. What is this code? and how difficult of a repair is it to do? Thanks

P1756 = Mid presure malfunction, governor, sensor, etc.. When the governor sensor malfunctions it can cause damage to the clutches. Change out the governor & solonoid. Below is a link for a good video regarding repair of this problem.

To be honest with you Jeeps are notoriuse for their transmission problems. Most likely you have a shift solonoid in the transmission bad. I would have it checked before it gets worse to try and prevent internal problems.

Good Luck and I hope this helps you.

My 95 olds cutlass v6 3.1L sometimes wont shift out of third gear and it just completely shut off on the thruway... what does this mean?

Its possibly a bad shift solonoid on the trans itself. These trannys' 4T60E have 3 solonoids for shifting 1 for 1st and 2nd, 1 for 2nd to 3rd, and 1 for 3rd to overdrive. Its quite possible that the valve is sticking in the valve body. This can be a somewhat difficult job to do. But the solonoids arent that expensive. I would suggest a trans fluid flush and a new screen/filter and see if that helps. If you take it to a dealer the solonoid/s replacement will be around $800 or more.

Transmission problem

I had a shifting problem. The car would start in the wrong gear and shift at wrong times. I repaced the governor postion sensor and tranny fluid and the problem has been fixed for several years. Did you replace the tranny fluid?
