Timing belt setting and my car iddle are out of form mazda etude

My mazda etude 160 ie 2002 modle is not operating because the timing belt setting are very much incorrect; i need to know how can i fix and put the right time setting and set the idle proper please help me

Your camshaft and crankshaft pulleys have to be properly aligned upon installation of the timing belt. The cogs on the belt, should fit precisely with the teeth of the pulleys. Your # 1 engine cylinder should be moved to "Top Dead Center" before installing the belt. This means no compression once the top of the piston cylinder reaches the top of the chamber.

Hi I have a Mazda etude 1.6 ie I replaced the timing belt and nu it don't wane pick up any revs the timing is correctly set the.valve is ok.it idles well on 2000 revs but when i pres the gas it dies


not a Mazda man but 2000 rpm's at idle is more than double what it should be . My toyota idles at about 750 .runs 2000 going 70 mph down the highway

Check the distributir cap if there is no power there check the coil work backwards away from the plugs till you find power and you have traced that fault.

How do i fix the valve timing seals,and need the timing marks for mazda etude 96 16v doch


Have you replaced the timing belts. If not you need to. To replace the seals you have to remove the gears on the cam shafts.

2002 mazda protege just had timing belt changed, now car is over revving and getting very hot


timing might have adjusted before the belt replacement,so happens. please check the valve and distributor timing once again and in accordance with the new timing belt.your problem will be solved.

Mazda Etude 160ie timing


I have a problem with the mazda etude 160ise, the crank shaft sensor was damages and replaced it ad now the car cant tart. Note that the timing was afected in that the two sealings were replaced. Could one please provide information as to how I can get in timing and get it going again.

Problem with Altenator belts Etude


the problem is not the altenator. you should have a idler pully and a self adjusting idler tensioner. if thes e go bad the bearings tend to seize up and break belts i would check these first chance you get the tensioner should be spring like and be hard to move back and forth the pulley part of it should spin freely with out makeing a noise. please rate this

1996 Mazda Etude 160 Timing Belt


The timing belt has 123 teeth, and ussualy the marks are little paints. align them together and then you will have ur problem solved.
