You need to check the Blower resister. This is what makes the different speeds. It is located below the dash on the passenger side. Has at least 4 wires going to it. There is most likely a trim panel you will need to remove to see it. Check to see if the connector is burnt. If ti is both the resister and the connector will need replacement. As far as buying and returning a blower motot beware as most places will not take back electrical parts for this very reason. Best to diag and get the right part the first time.

Hi pklilly
dave here

the best solution for this problem is to buy a new blower motor at the auto parts store or a used one at the wreckers and keep the receipt.
without tearing everything apart unplug the old blower and plug in the new one.
if it works tear the old one out and put the new one in.
if it does not work return the blower and get back to me.
this of course assumes you have checked the fuse (both sides) with a trouble light(continuity tester). if there is more than the blower running off the fuse just make sure whatever else is on the fuse is working

My fan blower motor only works on high,They say it maybe the resistor may be bad, where is it ? Thanks, Jim

Hi, the resistor is screwed to the side of the blower housing behind the glove box. See procedure below to replace the resistor. You don't have to complete all steps in the procedure. just work your way to the point that you can unscrew the resistor. Please let me know if you have questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

1990-93 Accord

See Figures 2, 3 and 4
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. If so equipped, disable the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS).
  2. Remove the glove box.
  3. Remove the glove box frame (lower support)

Fig. Fig. 2: Remove the glove box and frame

  1. If not equipped with air conditioning:
    1. Remove the three screws and remove the heater duct.
    2. Remove the blower mounting nuts. Unplug the wiring from the blower motor, resistor and recirculation control motor, then remove the blower assembly.

  2. If equipped with air conditioning:
    1. Lift the carpet in the passenger compartment. Remove the side cover (kick panel).
    2. Remove the control unit bracket nuts; unplug the five connectors and remove the control unit bracket.
    3. Remove the retaining band, then remove the blower lower covers. Do not break the tabs on the lower covers.
    4. Remove the retaining nuts and remove the blower assembly.

Heater/air condition will not blow on 3 and 5. Is the knob wore out and how do you change it/fix it.

this is more likely a blower motor resistor problem. The resistor controls fan speed, if faulty one or more or all speeds will not work. This blower motor resistor is located near the blower, It should be mounted upwards into the blower motor box, and have several wires connecting both units together (blower and resistor). hopefully this help'd

Heater blower only works on speed 3

the speed of the blower is controlled by the Blower Motor Resistor.Available at your local auto parts store for around $20.Ask them and they'll tell you it's exact location. It should be on the firewall close to the box the Air Conditioning lines go into.

Air conditioning and heater blower only works on high setting, what has happened to 3 slower speeds?

Replace your blower resistor, usually located on firewall under hood on passenger side, or under dash on passenger side, up under on ducting.

Air condition fan only works on high speed, no low speed

You have a bad blower motor resistor. This is located under the dash close to the blower motor itself

You might have a bad speed selector switch, or your blower motor resistor is faulty.
