Hi; ok dont worry about the old hard oil, just go ahead and give it a good brand oil change and do this every 3,000 miles or so, I think the problem was caused by low quality oil ,do not add any additives to your oil ....good luck .......C1

Addeed coolant yesterday today coolant is gone but oil is showing passed full whats going on ?

Your description sounds very much like a blown head gasket or a cracked head/block. This allows coolant to leaking into the oil sump, causing the overfull indication. Check the oil fill cap. If the underside of it has a "chocolate milk" like residue on it, this is the result of oil and water mixing. If this is the case, STOP USING THE CAR IMMEDIATELY. The water in the oil will cause excessive wear on the engine and destroy it in short order. The engine will need to be torn down, flushed, and the cause of the leak found. Only then can it be reassembled and put back into use.

When i check the oil level in my huyndai avante xd 2006 i found the the oil level is down , no smoke or leak from the car .. What's the Problem ?

All motors will use a small amount of oil over a period of time. It is used by boiling off in the sump from blow by around trhe rings and ring gaps, smoke vapour through the manifold system and general leaks around the engine or sump gasket. It is necessary to lubricate the rings as they are moving. However having said that consumption in excess of 1 liter pre 5000 miles would bear investigation as it will point to engine wear or leaking oil seals

What can i do to quiet a valve tap in 2001 ford crown victoria

easy way: oil additives found at auto stores will have something to reduce/stop valve tapping. change your oil and add the additive before filling the engine back up. that will fix it for a few thousand miles till you have to do it the hard way. the hard way: remove the rocker cover, use a feeler gauge and a ford service manual to get each cylinder to where it needs to be adjusted and feel the rocker gap and adjust to suit.

My 1996 ford ranger oil meter was low and a ticking noise in engine for a week. today the ticking went crazy and the truck shut down. how much to fix oil pump

This is not what you wanted to hear. I had a Ranger (Emerald Green) The low oil pressure was caused most likely by a rod end bearing that was for some reason worn therefore leaving a gap in the bearing mating survaces so oil was running out the sides of the rod end bearing causing the low oil presure. The ticking that went crazy was the rod end bearing that destroyed itself and fell into the oil pan.

Quite possibly you now have a broken connecting rod as for the reason it shut down unless the engine computer sensed ZERO oil pressure and shut off the ignition.

I can tell you your problem is probably not the oil pump.

I see the following instore for you
1. head removal / valve resurfacing
2. crankshaft polishing
3. rod end bearing replacement and possibly resizing

The oil pump is the least of your problems.

Just being honest so you can understand what could be instore for you. Sadly it is not cheap.

99 Sunfire Coolant keeps dumping

You need to find the source of the leak. it hasn't overheated yet because you keep catching it and re-filling. From your description, it sounds a lot like a bad water pump seal (part of pump) but without physically looking you can't be sure of that. when the pump seal begins to fail, internal pressure while running often will drive the seal tighter against the shaft stopping the leak. as pressure drops as the engine cools, the seal relaxes and permits seepage.
With time, that will change and it will leak all the time.

Hi, I have a 2000 2L Golf and had full service (cam belt, water pump etc) completed 23/03/09...Oil Presure light came on today and found dip stick is dry???...Some evidence of water in oil under cap but...

Water under oil cap is normal when the engine doesn't get hot enough to evaporate the moisture from the inside of the engine.
Fill oil to the full mark on the dipstick and keep an eye on it , Part of me is wondering if the Tech filled it to the correct level after he serviced it.
If it isn't smoking and not leaving oil on your drive then it should be O.K.
I hope this helps
