Question about 1994 Oldsmobile Eighty Eight

1 Answer

Electric Problems I drive a 1994 Oldsmobile Eighty Eight, or at least that's what I would drive if it would start. It's had problems with the connections to the starter, but nothing that a good yank on the wire wouldn't fix for 8 months at a time, but now the connection to the battery isn't complete. I let my mom drive it for a while and she had the connection to the battery tightened, since then it has daily needed tightening just in order to start at all. When I try starting the engine, I no longer even get clicks, but if I tighten the bolts connected to the battery, the positive end, not the negative, I get a reaction. Earlier tonight the car started, but now I get a click. The battery is fully charged and if I can get the car to start, it runs smoothly. Would this be the connection itself, requiring just a simple replacement for the bolt or is there another alternative to this problem? I don't want to get one fixed, just to find it was the other.

starter's not the problem, as long as there's connection to it from the battery, it starts right off

1994 AND 93 ?

You will probably want to use the computer off the 94 just to make sure everything works properly. Other than that it should work. May have to do work arounds on throttle linkage or maybe some plugs.

Where is the starter located on an 94 oldsmobile eighty eight

It is located between the radiator and the motor, back towards the transmission. You should be able to get to it from underneath. You have to work around the cradle, but you can get to it.
