Ok, i've never had this problem but i would check all the fuses first, then if you can, check the wires that lead to it and make sure there is a good connection. sounds like a loose wire. good luck.

Ford explorer check engine light

Unless a code has been set the light usually comes on with the key set to run with the engine off. Suggest going to your friendly auto parts dealer and have them connect a OBDII scanner and check for codes. This service is usually complementary!

Some codes (Catalytic converter) can represent a significant expense but not interfere with the driving performance.

Check Engine light

This is a lean Code. What is happening is too much air is entering the engine and the O2 sensor is making the engine run rich to rebalance the fuel ratio.

You need to find the leak. Use a spray bottle of water while the engine is running. When you spray over the leak, the rpm will change or the engine may even stall. This is where repair is needed.

Check your fuses to see if one is bad, if so, change it and that should clear your problem. Hope this helps, James Booth

Right headlight want come on even though i changed the bulb

Check your fuse box, that light may have its own fuse that is blown. Or, you may have gotten a bad bulb from the package, rare but it does happen.

96 FORD EXPLORER XLT 4X4 LIGHT FLASHING

Does the 4x4 "actually" work because this is a signal that the system has a problem. Its like a check engine light that comes on or flashes when there is a problem with the engine or emission system.

1996 ford explorer license plate fuse

I'm not to sure what one you did want license plate light or the tag light up high above your back door. I know I am reading license plate so I will say the fuse needs to be replaced. plate lamps need 2 light bulbs and the fuse box is under the steering wheel or under the hood there are 2.
in my book it said that it is a (194 trade number), I woulds change out bulbs and then fuse.
