No,you will not have any negative issues with this oil, other than some slightly slower cranking if the ambient temperature is very, very low. If you had one of the more "technical " Toyota engines, with the "variable valve timing system", you would have an issue.
Tacomas do NOT have the VVT system,
Have no fear, run it without worry.
I hope this has satisfied your question. Thanks for choosing FIxYa.

Its not that serious, Sae 5w-30 is recommended in areas with snow and frost areas as compared to10w-40, which is used in cold to tropical areas. I you really want to have a piece of mind, put additives to compensate for any deviation from the required viscousity.

What is the recomended oil I should use on a toyota corolla 1986

Due to tight tolerances on Japanese engines the factory most likely recommends 5W30 I on the other hand recommend :
If the engine has less than 50,000 miles 10W30.
If it has over 50,000 miles on it and isn't burning oil (black smoke)
i use 10W40.
If it's over 150,000 and is a little sloppy ( burns a little oil)
I use 10W40 in the winter and 20W50 in the summer.

Still using the 5w30 oil that the manufacturer recommends.?? If the engine is a "higher" mile engine you need stronger protection. Could also be a need for plugs & wires (mis-fires). When it comes to oil, the average mechanic cannot tell you what 5w30 means. 5 thousandths protection (hot) between mating surfaces (rods & bearings, push rods & lifters). 30 thousands protection (cold) between surfaces. If its an older engine, I recommend a higher viscosity oil. 10w40, for an engine 100,000 -200,000 miles.(the gap between surfaces has to be higher as it ages, right??) If you keep your cars running into the 200,000 - 275,000 mile range, I start to use a 20w50 oil. Try a thicker, higher viscosity oil.

Type of motor oil to use 10w30 or 10w40

Coming on colder weather i would use a 5w30 oil,10w30 is fine but the thicker 5w30 will get you quicker lubrication to the top end when the engine is cold and the same protection when the engine has warmed up.

What is the recommended oil for a 2008 toyota tacoma with the V-6?

for reference you can always find out what oil to use by looking at the oil filler cap or in the owners manual.
on this model toyota it is recommended by the manufacturer to use 5w20 in the v6 and you will need 5 quarts 5.5 if you change the filter. where i live we put 5w30 in these motors as we need the higher viscosity.
that should be everything you need to get your oil change done. Hope this helps you and if you need further assistance please feel free to followup with a comment. If this answered your problem please feel free to rate the solution. thanks and have a great day-Midwest-Tek

What oil should I use for my 2002 1.9 TDi VW Golf?

Use 5W-30 for cold weather, gives you an easy engine start and good gas millage, in summer time you can use 10W-30.

I have 2002 Isuzu Trooper with 236000 which has started using 2-3 qtrs of oil between 4-5000 mile oil changes. Been using 5W30 oil . Should I change to 10W40 ?

No its too thick for the injection system .

You may need to consider having an engine overhaul with new piston rings and a turbo

What type of motor oil should i use?

A stock 2000 Maxima engine is non-turbo and 5W30 oil is recommended by nissan. As the mileage on the engine increases, you should switch to a heavier weight oil, like 10W40.

What is engine oil type, 2001 durango 4-wheel 4.7 engine

You can use any of the following weights of motor oil: 5W30, 10W30, or 10W40. Personally, I use Mobil1 Synthetic 5W30 in my pickup. Synthetic is better for your motor (you can go 5,000 miles between oil changes with synthetic oils) but once you start using it it's better if you stay with it meaning every oil change you use synthetic oil.

What oil type

Go with the shop manual's recommendation - it's put out by the manufacturer. If they list different viscosities for cold vs warm weather, you may benefit by following that if you live in a climate with cold winters (ie, 5W30 in winter, and 10W30 in summer).
