Question about 2004 Jeep Wrangler

2004 Jeep Wrangler Solenoid

I have a 2004 Jeep Wrangler Sport with an 4.0L straight six, a Borla cat back Exhaust, and 30k miles. It was running great for the first 6 months that I owned it and recently every month I have needed to get the solenoid valve replace about every 30 days. Does anyone know why this may be happening?

2004 Jeep Wrangler cleaning out cats...Will this make the motor run bad???

cleanig them? with a fuel system cleaner system? that would be ok. if need to be done correctly to burn it all out. if you want to hollow out the cat...do not. it will effect the jeep running and will set the eninge light (also kill the red eyed tree frog and stuff lol) maybe you can clarify what you want to do, if this does not answer your question.

Oxygen sensor bank 1 how do i fix it

That engine is a straight six cylinder so follow the exhaust pipe from the engine exhaust manifold to the first sensor you see threaded into that pipe, that would be the bank 1 sensor 1 O2 sensor.

Tell us news.

I would check the fuel pressure regulator. Sounds like it's getting WAY TOO MUCH GAS!! Also check the plugs to see if they are fouled.

Have you had fuel pressure tested, and/or filter changed. Have you checked for plugged exhaust, such as catalytic converter? Quite often engine will also run a little hotter than normal when exhaust is plugged.

we have the same problem on our 2004 dakota. The mechanic says that it could be the exhaust vacuum that needs to be replaced. Also, they also mentioned that sometimes when the catalytic converter is plugged it acts that way also.

Let me know if this helps.

Check the vaccum line that goes from the firewall to behing the glove box. I had a 2004 and it did the same thing at 35000 miles. The vaccum line needed replaced.

It could be lash in the differential which is normal, but it could also be a loose u-joint in the driveshaft. Check the rear driveshaft u-joints.

I have a hole in my exhaust manifold

A little bit of work is involved here. Don't attempt unless you have quite an assortment of tools. A lot has to come off to complete this repair. You need to be a better than a beginner mechanic to do this.
