Already replaced the fuel filter and pump and air flow sensor. but if i use starting fluid the car will start and keep running as long as i keep spraying the starting fluid.
i have a 2000 licoln town car. car starts but immediately stalls. could it be battery? altanator? starter? have had battery problems for the past week, interior lights and outside lights have gone out on me while driving at night in the rain. battery light on but mechanic says battery is fine. please help

ok lets start with the codes they say your getting. P??? which 1's and how many. there are few o2 sensors, are they next to the Exhaust next to the converter? MASS AIR FLOW -MAF use this, for now i am guessing, until i see the correct codes your are getting. this could be the 1 you may have below, please read it........
Faulty mass air flow sensor
- Intake air leaks
- Dirty mass air flow sensor
- Dirty mass air filter
- Mass air flow sensor harness is open or shorted
- Mass air flow sensor circuit poor electrical connection
Before replacing the mass air flow sensor, try replacing the air filter and cleaning the air flow sensor with low compress air or mass air flow sensor cleaner. Reset code and drive vehicle. If the code comes back, it may be necessary to replaced the mass air flow sensor.

the code is generated when An excessively high voltage from the sensor is sent to Engine Control Module (ECM).
If the pump relay is working and the pump runs when you turn the key on, it could be the check valve in the pump. The valve could be allowing fuel pressure to drain back into the tank when the engine is off.
To test fuel flow, have a 2nd person stand over air filter (air filter housing open) with a can of starting fluid in one hand. Don't give any throttle, then 2nd person gives 1-second squirt into air filter while you're turning starter motor (no throttle). When engine catches, immediately give one third to one half throttle. Just before it dies, 2nd person should give another short squirt of starting fluid to keep engine from dying. If throttle won't keep engine running and only starting fluid keeps it running, then yes, no fuel is going through fuel lines. Either its a fuel pump issue or maybe there's restriction because of clogged dirty fuel filter. If it starts but runs rough and has black exhaust smoke, then its clogged or dirty fuel injectors.
you will need two people to test to see if you have a bad fuel pump. you will need a can of aerosol throttle body cleaner. open up the air filter casing and and make sure u do not squit any fluid on the MAF air flow sensor the bottle of cleaner sometimes has a red straw for further reach use this straw. the other person has to crank the engine and once the enine begins to turn over start squirting the fluid into the engine via the air filter tube. have plenty of trigger control becuse too much fluid might cause a back fire (so you might want to wear a clean glove) and too little fluid wont start the engine. if you get the enine to run for a brief second while squirting the chemical chances are that the fule pump is bad or the fuel filter is clogged. hope this helps
Try checking the exhaust flow when someone else is pushing down on the gas petal.The farther the petal gos down,the more exhaust should be coming out. I replaced my catalitic convertor at 44000 miles, it was clogged. I had them install a high flow type.
Hi,if the car stay s runing with starting fluid your problem is fuel delivery,even if you replaced the fuel pump ,be sure that is working properly ,run a presure test,be sure to check fuel pump fuse and relay, there is no fuel getting in to the sistem .......
