Question about 1997 Honda Accord

1 Answer

Pointers on the dash do not light up

Pointers don't light up but all other dash lights light up and dim properly. I hear it is 4 separate bulbs but it seems strange that all 4 would be bad. Could there be another problem, and how is the dash disasembled to get at them?

If headlights don't come on on a 2000 Buick Lesabre what do you think is wong

first go for the easy stuff. do the tail lights come on? if so, then will almost guarantee it's bad bulbs in headlights. if tail lights do not come on I would check fuses first relay second. switch third.

Lights dim

Was any of the brake light bulbs changed recently, the wrong type of bulb may be used causing a short in the socket, and making the rest of the brake and signal circuit malfunction. I no bulbs were recently replaced, start with checking for corrosion in each bulb socket, signal and brake bulb sockets. Let us know what you find

I came to this project in the middle so I am not sure this a pre existing problem. What I have is a left turn signal very dim while the right is normal, gas gauge shows over a quarter full yet the low...

Check the front and rear turn signals on the left. If both are just as bright as the right turn signals, then the dim bulb is isolated just to the dash. Possibly someone replaced the bulb at one time with the wrong rated bulb. A steady dim bulb doesn't sound like a loose ground. It would probably be going in and out or flickering, and just that one side would not have a separate ground. High resistance in a wire (like broken strands)or a connection could cut the current and cause a dim bulb. If the whole left side is dim, both the dash and the signaling bulbs, start looking for high resistance in that side of the circuit. To thoroughly check it out, probably need a volt meter

RPM light is dim in some sections

It sounds like one of the dash light bulbs is burned out or there is a loose connection. There a light bulbs located behind all the guages. You might need to dis-assemble the entire console to get to it.

DASH LIGHTS DIM WHEN BRAKE OR LEFT BLINKER APPLIED

Pull the bulb out of both left side turn signals and check the filaments. As these are double filament bulbs, sometimes the filaments break and lay across the other creating a feedback issue.

The pointers (4) on my dash don't light up. All other dash lights light up and dim properly. I hear it is 4 separate bulbs but it seems strange that all 4 would go. Is this common or could it be something...

the opointers are lit by the lights form the gauges, there is not a seperate bulb for the pointers, more than likely either they are not made ot light up, if they are white then they do not light up, if they are orange in color then it is possible they just do not have the proper illumination to them....
