If the solenoid clicks loudly then the contacts are most likely burnt in the solenoid.

My truck is stuck in four wheel drive

At the risk of going to the offensive, sometimes it's the simplest thing - you ARE putting it in neutral, at a stop, engine running, with the brake pedal pressed, when trying to shift out of 4wd, yes?

2) Check for blown fuse for 4x4 shift module

3)This sounds dumm, but worked on my wife 99. I took it to a school parking lot, put it in reverse, floored it and pulled on the lever and it popped out of 4x4

4) The shift motor is bad. Replace it.

Hope this helps.

Lincoln ls starter spins but doesnt engage

You haven't given enough info. Have you looked at the water pump and belt to see if the engine is turning over.?? Could be the flywheel is broken in the center and will not spin the engine. Or believe it or not the starter drive may not be any good. New parts sometimes are not perfect, let alone adequate. If the starter truly does not engage but spins the drive is definitely bad. If you will give more info I will answer your problem with a solution. You cant have but so many problems.

Have your alternator check out, sound like you lost power and that will cause the lights to go out and the starter to just click.

Large rattle in the engine, No oil leaks, belts re

Take the serpentine belt off the engine and and run it without it for a couple of minutes. Did the noise go away. If it did then it's accessory related if not it's engine related. Possibly a stuck lifter. Just spit balling here. Need more info.

1999 Ford Expedition- Hood release does not work.

Lie down on the floor board and look up under the hood release latch and see if the cable has unhooked itself of broken away from the plastic handle? If it has use a pair of needle nose plier and pull the cable to release the hood.

About the shuddering, I'll need more info. Is it a vibration or a sluggish running of the engine?

1999 FORD EXPEDITION intermittantly will not start.

You have a bad starter. A faulty starter will function when its cold but when it heats up, it takes more energy to get the starter to engage. Your problem is exhibiting the classic symptoms of a bad starter. I hope this solves your problem and the best of luck to you.
