You have to go to the parts store and buy a manual choke cable, attach it to the choke where it is suppost to be attached, mount it to the engine in a few spots with zip ties, and run the cable into the interior of the car through the firewall, you may have a couple unused plugs on the firewall you can take it through. If not, just foind the speddo cable entrance and with a knife make a hole next to the speedo in the rubber boot and feed it through there. when you take the cable through into the bottom of the dash where your going to mount the little handle, make sure you feed it through the top of some other wires, so it will not dangle or get in the way of your foot.

I would like to know if you have a carter carburator diagram for a 2bbl carb

Www.carter.com ask for exploded views of your carb you'll need the tag number on the carb. Its relatively easy to do as long as your float level is correct or google carter carberators using the tag number

Carburetor diagrams deni pd24jh

Did you adjust the idle mixture screws ? Is this a two or four barrel carburetor and what make carb. Carter , Holley, Quadrajet etc.. What make vehicle is it ? Normally the idle mixture screws should be opened 1 and a half turns to two turns . counterclockwise from fully seated . Then you can set the idle screw to what the idle should be 600 rpm to 750 in drive . Most cars have a decal somewhere under the hood telling all these things !

Need an emissions schamatic for my 1984 K10 silverado 305 engine

Unfortunately, there are 13 variations for this engine and year. Was this truck sold or modified for high altitude? Was it sold in California or modified to meet the CA emission standards? Does it have a manual or auto transmission? After narrowing down based on answers to these questions, there are still alternative configurations depending on the particular equipment, so look carefully at the diagrams to see which components are used on your engine. Sometimes you can match the 3 letter code for the diagram to letters in the VIN or a sticker in the engine compartment. Please let me know if you have questions.

What kind of carburter do I need for a 1984 firebird

If you have the original engine, likely it's a Quadrajet if it's 4bbl, or another possibility is a Rochester 2gc. The Quadrajet is a modified version with a purge valve solenoid and a throttle position sensor built into it. (funny to see your post because I just took one off a Montecarlo this morning....did a vorteck head swap, cam, high perf. intake, headers and a way larger Holley carb)

Best replacement carb for 1980 vette , simple is the key word

Best simple replacement carb for your Vette would be to have the stock Quadrajet rebuilt by an ols pro...when built right these carbs of 780 cfm are powerful and reliably consistent...be sure to keep the electric choke...A bolt on replacement that I have used is the Carter Thermoquad...while this carb permits easy adjustments, the secondaries are not as large as the Quadrajet...therfore the kick down response is not as powerful as the Q-jet...Yes, the primaries are larger but the 625 CFM again limits the response on your LT-1 350...Hope this helps.

Where is the fuel filter on 1984 Silverado 4x4 pickup with a 305 cid?

If you have the original quadrajet carb it has a small inline fuel filter located on the front of the carb. This applies to both 2bbl and 4bbl 500-650 cfm carbs

I just bought a 77 chevy motorhome with a 454 in it. it idled great, drove great at first, even when hot. took it out and opened it up, and then died. now it wont idle. timing?

almost sounds more in the carburator. if this motorhome sat for a long period of time, when you opened it up, it increased the fuel flow in the bowl of the carb, therefor may have stirred up dirt and varnish. id check there first. if it has a holley on it, if it "coughed" or backfired through the carb when you "opened" it up, it more then likely blew the power valve out

I dont think my vac.secondaries are working and i think a vac.line is hooked up wrong its a quadrajet 4bbl on a stock 305 in an 84 el camino

On the R.H side of the carb behind the automatic choke down on the rear throttle shaft there is a pin running thru the shaft with a lever that will lock it out. If the choke is not fully open or the weight behind the auto choke is not dropping the lever will not relase the secondaries to open.
