Re: i took my van in for a basic turnup and oil change...
If you remove the engine cover from inside the vehicle you will gain access to the spark plug wires and spark plugs. The spark plug wires come out of the distrubtor cap thats at the rear of the motor, the spark plug wires run to the left side of the motor and to the right side an end up attached to the spark plugs. Reolace spark plug wires one at a time so you dont mix them up, this is fairly easy the only difficult part is getting your hands in the small space in the engine compartment. Hope this was helpful.

DTC P0302: Cylinder 2 misfire detected. Probable cause:
1. Check for latest control unit software update
2. Faulty PCM or ECM
3. Faulty fuel injector

5. Fuel system problem
locate the oil plug, under car. put pan under it to catch the oil.remove oil plug and let it drain. when all oil is out, replace the oil pan plug that you took out.after doing this remove the oil filter and discard it. put on new oil filter and tighten as much as possible only hand tight. then put in the new oil. check for leaks, and thats it. good-day !
check your oil make sure the water didnt get into the internal of engine. if it didnt then yes when fuel ran out the sudden jult of the trans stoping befor the engine or vs versa can cuase the timming to jump
That very well could be-- if you lose oil pressure, this can ruin your engine. You should have seen a red "oil light" indicating that there was a serious problem, to accompany the knocking noise, which could be "rod knock" if you had very low (or no) oil pressure. Make sure you have someone else verify before giving this guy thousands of dollars.
changing oil is pretty much the same, 5 quarts is all you need and don't waste your valuable money on synthetic, at how many miles already on the truck you don't want to use a different type oil because a lot of the gaskets will start to leak, hope this helps
Jack up pass side.Put cardboard, BIG piece under engine just in case. Using a pan to drain the oil in put under oil pan drain plug. Remove drain plug with socket wrench. Let drain 5 min. Check the gasket on the drain plug, if bad replace with new gasket .99 cents to replace gasket only on plug. Put plug back in DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN the plug. Slide drain pan with drained oil to the front to remove oil filter. Using a filter wrench remove oil filter. Let drain. When installing new filter put a little new engine oil on the rubber gasket on the filter with your finger. Screw filter back on tighten with filter wrench. Fill van with oil from front valve cover opening.
