Did you even bother to check and see if the distributor and coil had any battery power to work with before you blamed them for the problem and sent them to their grave? I'm So-o-o-o-o glad I'm not an auto part....No such thing as a fair trial where facts must be presented and proven before you can be locked (thrown) away......
It could be anything in the ignition circuit, including the ignition switch itself or a break in any of the many wires involved....Proper diagnosis required.

2 things, sounds air related
1 there is a split in one of your air pipes causing it to take on to much air and cut out.
2 the air flow meter or air sensor is broke, or may need cleaning.
Use carb cleaner to clean the sensors and wires.
