Car runs for a mile then stalls

Very dificult to diagnose without testing.
I might suspect it could be a intake sensor - there are several.
Or might be the ECM or ECU aka main computer..I would sugest taking to a shop and have it plugged in to get the error code(s).
Some times if the ECM or ECU is failing it will not produce a error code.
Hope this helps !

Got a 1997 monte carlo and im having a problem with either the fuel pump or the catalytic converter as one or both are causing the car to stall at low speeds or when i stop and then takes about 20 min

You have a pressure port test on the fuel injector rails, when you stall out just cycle the key go to the test port and which is nothing but a tire valve looking, press in the shrader fuel should squirt out and just dribble out,if it dribble out you may need a fuel pump, now as for the catalytic convertor you would be complaining about no power.I beleve you dont have a plugged convertor, You are equipt with a map sensor on the under hood diagram follow the hose diagram and check to make sure this is plugged in.If anything I stating the ignition module as the culprit it is designed with a 3x reference signal, which is not calculating the proper engine speed, and it doesnt have to set a code

2000 Monte Carlo SS- Stalls after running 5-15 minutes

Check the plug on the MAF.Wiggle it while its running......see if it stalls or jerks.
Or.......replace the MAF if the plug/wire connections are good to it.
The other 2 codes will not stall the engine.

Remember.....all cars run on used parts.
A good used MAF can be had a lot cheaper than new.

Wont keep idle, car stalls out

I had this same problem on my 2005 monte carlo, took mechanic a while to figure out it was the idle air control valve. They also replace the idle air control motor.
