Disconnect wires to visor 1999 suburban

When you cut the wire you shorted it out. You can't do that unless you disconnect the battery. Check the fuse for the windows.

Look at visor lights are they turning off? You need to do a parasitic draw test to isolate draw. without a meter testing draw its hard to locate source of draw. Dirty battery connections can also not let charge get to battery.

There is usually a cosmetic cover hiding the two phillips head screws which attach the visor to the overhead. These covers 'clip' in place and can be removed using a small flat tip screwdriver. Once removed, you can then access these two phillips head screws. Remove the screws & gently remove the visor. You will find a wire harness connector to the visor. Find the release tab on the connector & press on it to disconnect the visor from the wire harness in the overhead. Installation is reverse of removel.

To disable the light you will need to locate the hinge and fold down visor you will see three screws holding the visor on the roof, remove the screws and pull visor out, you will see the wire that powers the light in the visor, all you need to do is unplug the connector and reinstall the visor back on roof, good day,

the plug is in the roof a short distance away from the visors hinged bracket. Just tug it out and disconnect it

The antenna is a wire mounted inside the visor. If you don't want to put in a new visor, you can remove the wire and attach it to your headliner or at the top of your windshield.

if the visors are junk and your not going to use them again cut the wire off right where the wire goes into the visor itself. if you are going to get new ones you need to make sure their is enough wire there to splice the wire onto the new ones. or a razor knife or heavy snips to cut open the visor to disconnect from inside

It is behind your glove box. You have to make sure when take out the glove box be careful of the tabs and also remove the wire on the side. You will see a black box with a a bunch of wires coming out of it. You need to disconnect that mess of wires and remove the two screws that are holding the resistor in the box. Remove it and put the new one in. Be care not to bend the coils all up on the resister. Hope this makes sense, keep me posted, be glad to help. 

This is a well documented problem, replace the turn signal/multifunction switch to correct this issue, this very problem happened on my GMC, it is a 99 as well, replaced the switch as instructed by a chevy forum member and it fixed the problem
