On a 1994 Chevy suburban there's no power to anything that would be powered up when the key is on all items except the door locks work i.e. head lights, dome lights. And cigarette

Ignition switch possible or a main fusible link. go to http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html free wiring diagrams .Enter your vehicle info . year , make , model an engine . then under system click on electrical distribution . subsystem -power distribution . Click on the search button ,then the blue link . Check out the wiring diagrams .You'll need to do some voltage testing to find if voltage is missing . This vehicle has eight fusible links ,one feeds the ignition switch . On the fire wall there should be a junction block where all these fusible links are connected to a main wire from the battery . You can try to see if one is burnt by pulling on them , you will feel the insulation stretch if burnt inside .

Starts but won't keep running then won't start

Check your Fuel Pressure and if that is good (over 40 psi)

then check your Idle Air Control (IAC) Valve

and seeing that it is a Mid-90's Chevy.. MAF Sensor is going bad.

If you UNPLUG your MAF and see what happens.... MAF is in the Air Intake with a 4 wire...

ENGINE WON'T TURN OVER WHEN I TRY TO START ALL POWER TO WIPERS AND RADIO IS GONE STARTER CHECKS GOOD REPLACED IGNITION STILL NO POWER TO STARTER CHECKED ALL FUSES ALL CHECK GOOD THIS IS A 1994 QUE

Assuming the engine is not locked up, can you crank it in neutral ?
There is a neutral safety switch in the circuit that could have failed.
There are also two relays in the circuit that would need to be checked.

I have a 1997 chevy lumina 3.1 NEED HELP!!!

there are a couple of smaller wires attached to the starters larger terminal. Those are called fusible links. It is likely those are what you hear pop.

Make sure there is continuity through those wires. If there is not they will need to be replaced.

They can not be replaced with regular wire. They need to be replaced with fusible link to protect the circuits they feed. Fusible link is readily available at your local parts store and they will be able to get you the correct size.

Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you for using FixYa.com!

1994 chevy lumina van. It will start and idle but stalls when gas

Try replacing the throttle position sensor. I had the same problem in my truck. It would start and run for a bit but as soon as you let off of the pedal, it would die. Try it and see if it works.

Try checking the fusible links in the wiring harness near the starter. My 91 had a similar problem where I lost my radio and my headlights. Turned out those fusible links were all corroded. replaced the bad ones (winter time- pain) and all was well again.
