Question about 1998 Ford Expedition

Air suspension not working

I own a 1998 Ford Exposition, the air suspension will not work! I have checked the compresor motor and it has no power going to it? The fuses look good, and have been replaced/ those fuses are # #28. these fuses were checked with the vehicle running. Everthing works!?? this fuse box is located inside the truck, I then tested the high currant fuses under the hood, and the all the mini fuses and they are all good, I checked the plugin connection, no problem with them! what am I missing??? Please help me.

On the passenger side inside the wheel well there is a high current relay for the air compressor it is a silver metal relay assy 4 wire plug two smaller wire are the relay power two larger wires are compressor feed. if you jump the two larger wires and the compressor works check the smaller wires for power and ground if ok the relay is bad. usually these relays go bad due to compressor drawing high current and usually need to be replaced

Hey I guess this may be a solution but I was having similar problems with my 2002 ford expedition airbag suspensions. My car was riding low one day and the other day it was riding normal. I was going insane so I went to a dealership and they quoted me to replace the airbags plus some other stuff and plus labor, everything about close to $2000.00, not kidding you!. Anyways, I started searching online and I don't know if you have heard of a company called Strutmasters, but they helped me fix all my issues.

Man, I'm telling you, the best thing I've ever done. It cost me way, way less than the dealership. They told me about some conversion kits which eliminates the air bags for good. I couldn't believe this existed out there. My ride is just as good and I don't have to worry about these airbags deflating again.

Their website is,
oh and also just like the rep told me, it was easy to install it as well. What I think its pretty neat is that they have videos on youtube and show you how to do these installations.

Check it out, I am happy I went this route!

My envoy back tires are goin up, so mi car is to high in the back i just went to get a change oil then it is happend they said it is someting like compresor air in the back i dont know noting abot it

You have an air suspension in the rear and apparently the leveling sensor is not working correctly and telling the compressor to come on too long. A mechanic will need to check the air suspension out.

My air ride compresor isn't coming on, and i get a check suspension light

Usually what happens is that the rear air springs leak, then the compressor runs all the time and burns up, then the fuse blows. Be prepared to spend big bucks. I usually buy parts from Arnott , check them out on the web.

Need to change air suspension compresor of 1998 Lincoln Town Car

The compressor is next to the air box on the driver side under a plastic cover. One plug, two hoses and 3 bolts that hold it down. The hose on the top of the compressor is a quick release. Push in hose and hold red ring at bottom, and it should pull right out
