Question about 1997 Mercury Sable
I have a 1997 Mercury Sable Wagon with the original radio/cassette deck. Yesterday, I got in the car, and the word "CALL" was on the radio display. The radio would not turn on/off; in other words, no matter what radio button I pressed, the word "CALL" (along with the time) continued to be displayed, with no sound coming out of the speakers.
I am not really concerned about using the radio (it had the crappiest reception ever), but I am concerned about the radio display being constantly on. I am worried that it will eventually drain my battery.

Q: Are you wearing your seat belt? Yes? No?
Solution: Put on your seat belt!!!!!! Save a life!!!
Soultion: There has to be a fuse either under the dash or under the hood that controlls the chime.
There is a switch in the seatbelt connecter that controlls the chime. It has either failed or the wireing that carried the signal to shut the chime off has been damaged.
