For a second time in a span of a month, my cedia has had the neutral light flashing and the car seems to be on 1st gear, but when i shutdown and restart the car the flashing clears and the car moves okay except that currently the car really delays in moving from 1st gear to 2nd or from a stationary position or picking up speed.

Your link broke off. What might have happened is the car got stuck in 1st, and when you shifted to second, the link broke. Not too clued up on your car, but you probably need to drop the gearbox. On some cars you can take out the shifter without having to drop the box and still see if the link is broken. Good luck

air in the hydraulic control system of the clutch release is the most likely cause here, have the clutch bled of air, that should cure the problem.
