Question about 1998 Mercury Mountaineer
My 98 Mountaineer, Has A Few Problems . I Don't Know What The Problem Is.
One Day I Drove It From Home To The Gas Station By My School, 4 Miles Away. As Soon As I Pull To The Pump The Truck Cuts Off. It Wasn't Out Of Gas, The Tank Was 1/2 Full. I Tried To Start It But Nothing Came One, No Power , Not Even A Clicking Sound. I Thought It Could Be The Battery Or Starter. When I Recieved A Jump The Truck Started Right Up, I Was Able To Drive It Home, But It Cut Off As Soon As I Pulled In My Drive Way. The Next Day , I Buy A New Battery. The Car Took Me To School And Home , When I Got Ready To Leave, It Wouldn't Start. Another Jump Was Needed but This Time I Only was Able to Go 1/2 Mile Before It Cut Off,,Nedding Another Jump To Make It Back To The Driveway.
A Not quailfied repairman Says It Could Be The Alternator, But I'm Not Sure Ifs That The problem.
I Always Notice That My Radiator Fluid Runs Out The 2nd Day After I Full It Up..I Always See It Leak Out at The Bottom When in Park..I Know I Shouldn't Have To Keep Buying Radiator Fluid Every 2 Days.
Can Someone tell Me Why My Truck Is Losing power And Just Shuts Off While I'm Driving????
98 mountaineer battery gage went all the way down, bought new battery but gage does not go back in the normal range

It's a default sensor to keep from blowing motor, you need to check your radiator for leaks. If that doesn't fix the problem , change your alternator. :)
