Question about 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe
I HAVE TO MANUALLY SHIFT IT INTO 4TH GEAR AND THEN WHEN YOU TRY TO ACCELERATE IT IT LOSES POWER AND WON'T GO OVER ABOUT 30 MPH. USED DIAGNOSTIC COMPUTER AND IT SAID EMMISIONS PROBLEM - CHANGED PLUG WIRES AND ADDED FUEL CLEANER - SEA FOAM - STILL NOT WORKING. ANY SUGGESTIONS
Based on what you write, I feel you have an automatic transmission problem, based on the fact that the transmission will not shift on its own into fourth gear. This could be a problem internally within the valve body and or clutch packs.
Remedy, or a good place to start with a diagnosis is a transmission service.
The person doing the service can inform you further.
If you would like to contact me again about this or other problems, feel free to do so.
