Question about 1990 Lincoln Continental
Hello, You could still have a problem with charging system. There is an external voltage regulator next to the battery, it is a $12 part, try replacing it. When you mean "Line", you are talking about the dashboard indicator lights for the battery, right? The dashboard, has been known to produce faulty readings, especially in this car. You will get a "Check DCL" error on dashboard. It is an electronic/ communication issue with the dashboard module and the PCM controller. The idle issue might be an additional problem, that just showed up. While you are investigating your problem, check the Distributor cap, and rotor, plug wires, and spark plugs, rule out this items as your problem. Also, a contaminated fuel filter would also make the car sputter. Also check to see, that the wiring harness, which is located between the engine and the firewall, is not damages, or melted, a short in it would cause this time of problem.
I hope this helps some, done hesitate to provide more details. Thank you, Alfredo
