Question about 2002 Ford Escape
I used my parking brake this morning, when I took off the parking brake and put the car into D, the light wouldn't go off and the ABS light came on. There isn't a brake fluid leak that I know of. There isn't a puddle in the garage...
Water might have seeped into your brake fluid which boils off due to high temperatures in the brakes resulting in brake fluid loss. I added more premium dot 3 brake fluid a little higher than the line and the parking brake light has not turned back on.

I have the same problem sometimes. I don't see any puddles of fluid in the garage, but there must be a small leak somewhere. About every 10-15,000 miles I have to add a little bit of brake fluid and the light goes off. I took it to my mechanic and he couldn't find anything wrong with it, just said I needed brake fluid.

Have you tried to set and release the brake again? sometimes they do stick, and often times this will help.
