Question about 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 2WD

2005 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 2WD Repair

I am trying to take the panel off of the passenger door. Does anyone know how to do this? I thought that it would be an easy task but it isn't.
I thought if I found a service manual it would show me in it how to do this. Still looking for this service manual too.
I hope someone has the answer to this problem.

I'm not certain, but i'll give it a shot. (I have removed panels from several other autos and they were all the same)
to remove the inner panel,
remove all screws- there should be around 8 or so- there should be one in the plastic shield around the door open handle, and one in the arm rest, and the rest should be around the outter panel. after the screws are removed, you should be able to pop the clips out, use a flat head screw driver and put light pressure to pry it off- careful to not break them.
to remove the outter panel
open door- obvously- remove the outter door handle and mirror. remove the seal on top of the panel (black, protects window) you will need a flat screw driver, carefull not to chip paint- it pops right off. now, from the inside, look around the outter edge, there are hex head screws holding the panel on, it is much easier to start on the side closer to the chasis of the truck. After all screws are removed, slide the panel- easily- toward the truck, (there is a small clip by the mirror mount that has to be dislodged when you slide it)
hope this helps! :)

What your hearing is the door stop which needs some lube. You should be able to accomplish this from the out side using grease or white lithium. The mechanism in the middle of the two hinges is the door stop and keeps the door from opening to far.

The only hard plug get out is the one one the passenger side rear. Anyone should be able to do this. Just be careful when removing the plug wires they tend to stick on the plug pretty well.

Chevrolet 2500 crewcab - rear door auto lock shut off

try punching the remote lock button twice. experience with 4 door s-blazers shows that it has to be done twice to lock all 4 doors. also look for "child safety" switched for the rear doors that may be disabling remote locking for the rears.

I had this problem in my pontiac grand prix. it was the dual zone door actuator.( I can't remember if that was the technical name) basically there is a door underneath and behind the dash, depending on how much cold or hot air you want there is an actuator that opens or closes the door.
