Loud diesel knock nissan terrano II head just replaced.
Recently replaced head gasket and serviced head and injectors on nissan terrano turbo TD27. had fuel lines mixed at initial start up but beleive we sorted this problem. Now runs much better but has audible diesel knock like pinging? have not moved fuel pump as is gear driven not belt timed. could it still have fuel lines wrong, engine idles very sweet but blows white smoke on acceleration and load and lacks alittle power. No missfire when driving but very hard to start sometimes.

You will need to have the transmission removed to access the torque converter. A new torque converter should fix things unless debris from the damage has spread throughout the trans, in which case a strip down of the trans is the way to go...or a new/secondhand trans is installed.......
that might mean your head gasket is blew up and then you might have a problem with the fuel pump is broken that would be the two thing that come into my mind when i read that good luck and hope that the rigth thing i told you.
