I think that you should be taking a look at the shifter position sensor.
If it is not set correctly you can have problems.
When set correctly you should not be able to start the car unless it is IN PARK.
It seems that the sensor is not set correctly...

Start with .4 (0.0157) And adjust up or down for best performance. It depends if you are looking for best fuel consumption or more horse power. Also make sure that your ignition timing angle matches the point gap. Have a good time

Why will ford ka only start in nuetral and not in gear

IT IS SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED THAT WAY! There is a NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH, which prevents you from starting the vehicle in gear BECAUSE IT IS DANGEROUS!

87 Subaru GL Carb/AT. The car starts well and idles. The problem is I have no power going up hills. Flooring it, I go 30-35. I can put the car in nuetral and rev it all the way up so it's not a clogged...

I would change the fuel filter anyway. Fuel filter problem manifest under a load usually. It is easy to do and cheap. This will eliminate one possible cause for your lack of power. Another reason may be your timing. If it pings going up hill also, you can ****** the timing a couple of degrees and/or try some fuel additive or higher octane gas or octane booster.

My 1988 gl 4 speed with carburator dies when put in nuetral just prior to a stop.

Way more info is needed. Check the fuel filter. Could be plugged just enough to starve at a low idle but gets enough when you have higher rpms. Does it sputter at an idle? Could be so many things, to electrical, including needing the carburetor rebuilt.

I have acquired a 1985 Subaru GL-10. The wiring was ripped out of the car and I would have found most of it but have no idea how wire parts of the like the head light switch turn signal and a few other...

Definitely not, the wiring is nothing similiar between these two models. For a wiring diagram for your 85 model you should be able to find a Haynes manual for the GL-10, it should cover everything you need.

Car won't start. Bought privately 2 days ago, started fine, now will not start. Starter replaced in Feb '08, but less than 500 miles put on car since then. Checked battery and it is fully charged. No sound...

check for constant battery power on the main lug of the starter constantly. and check the small wire for battery power while trying to start if you are missing the small wire power could be your starter relay or ignition switch, you can also try jumping the two posts on the starter with the key on if it starts you are missing the starter signal decribed above (small wire) please rate -jeff
