Actually, if you go to your local salvage/junkyard, you will probably find them at lot easier and cheaper that going to the dealership to order them, which is probably the only other place you'll be able to obtain them. In fact, many times a junkyard will give you a part that is that "insignificant" (to them, I mean). I wouldn't think that they'd charge your much more than $5 for them though. Hope this proves to be of use and have a great evening!

I lost the use of my radio/stereo/clock in my 2002 Taurus SEL wagon. The rest of the instrument cluster works. I also notice the 20A cell port fuse in the fusebox under the hood is blown, and continues...

Yes there is a short. check the port and make sure nothing is in there to short it out (penny, part of a charger, ect). Sometimes the cell charger can short out also. You dont need to disconnect thebattery to replace a fuse.

Location of thermostat

Instructions Things You'll Need:
  • Container
  • Jack and jack stands or wheel ramps (if needed)
  • Screwdriver
  • 13mm socket or wrench
  • Thermostat and gasket
  1. 1

Turn the drain valve at the bottom of the radiator counterclockwise to drain the coolant from your Ford Taurus into a suitable container. Depending on the size of the container, it may be necessary to lift the front end of your Taurus with a jack and lower it onto jack stands, or use wheel ramps.

  2. 2

Follow the upper radiator hose to the point where it meets the thermostat housing at the front of the intake manifold. Loosen the hose clamp and pull the radiator hose off the water connection on the thermostat housing.

  3. 3

Take out the two bolts on the thermostat housing cover with a 13mm socket or wrench and remove the cover. Clean any old gasket residue from the inside of the thermostat housing cover. Pull out the old thermostat.

  4. 4

Insert the new thermostat into the thermostat housing with the spring-side facing into the engine. Install the new thermostat gasket. Use a spray adhesive to hold the gasket in place, if desired.

  5. 5

Reinstall the thermostat housing cover. Tighten the bolts to 89-124 in. lbs. Reattach the upper radiator hose to the thermostat housing. Make sure the drain valve on the radiator is closed.

  6. 6

Fill the radiator with new or reserve coolant. Start your Ford Taurus and allow it to warm up to its normal operating temperature. Check hoses and connections for leaks and tighten hose clamps to stop any leaks, if necessary. Add more coolant as needed.

The radio dosent work i replaced it and it still dosent work. I also replaced the processor and still nothing. I checked the power to the radio and its fine. Im stumped.

That is odd... you say you replaced the stereo? Is it the original (OEM) stereo? If it isn't, the way to easily test the stereo's ability to power up or not, is to connect the red and yellow leads to the positive post of your car battery, and the black lead to the negative post. If the stereo is good, it should power up no problem. If it is the OEM, and you're just replacing the stock stereo, it could be a dead short (wire grounding out). The way to test that is to buy a test light (most any parts store carries them), turn the ignition switch to on, and check the wiring harness for the back of the stereo. You would attach the clamp to any unpainted metal surface in your car that is connected to the chassis, and put the test lead in each receptacle in the harness. At least 2 connections should light the test bulb up with the ignition in the on position. I don't know the schematics for it offhand, so I couldn't tell you which color wires should be lit ><. Hope this helps!

Car stereo disconnected and my turn signals won't work?

your fuses could be shot, wires could be shot, could be a coincidence, could be the experts at best buy LOL best way is to get it checked by a mechanic and tell him and if he determines it was obviously something caused by best buy, have them pay your bill.
