my fan is not blowing any air or much heat! its minus 40 where i live and i cant get my defrost to work! there is a little bit of head coming out through the vents so i know the heat coil is still good! but the fan will blow defrost for about 1 minute then slowly dies off! i can hear a clicking noice coming from the fan under the passenger side dash behind the glove box! sounds like i probably need a new fan!but i wanna check it out first to see if there is a loose connection first! where exactly is the fan and how do i get at it? please email me back @ shawn.sparkes@mtsallstream.com i probably wont be back here to check but please email me if u have any ideas! thanks

It sound like the cooling fans are no good if you have check them and they don't work then i would say you need a new one.Have you directly wired it to the battary to see if it would come on?

The cooling fan does not turn on when my 96 Chrysler Concorde when the engine gets hot...where should I look for the problem?

Somewhere around the flange of the engine cooling radiator is a thermostat that opens and closes a circuit for the fan, but first check the fuse box in the engine compartment and look for the engine fan relay fuse... Check it out first!

Engine cooling fan only works when ac or defrost is on

if engine at long stand still, the engine temperature will rise about 190 degrees the cooling fan suppose to automaticaly turn on when coolant temperature sensor get hot it cause its resistance decrease causing pcm to send power to coolant fan relays and cooling fans, when you turn on AC the cooling fans suppose to turn on to cool down AC CONDENSOR, IF NOT AC WONT WORK COOLING FAN COOLS DOWN REFRIGERANT SO IT CAN RECYCLE THROUGH THE SYSTEM AGAIN.your cooling is suppose to turn on when engine at a sit still if vechicle not moving as coolant temperature rises at a set point the cooling fans will turn on cool down engine.cooling fans dont turn on when you first cold stsrt vechicle unless you have AC SWITCH ON.if cooling fans dont turn on when vechicle at a long stand still or moving along slow traffic.if coolant temperature sensor been replaced and fuses and relays okay have dealership check see if pcm driver circuit working faulty pcm will cause cooling fans not to turn on.

MOST OF THE TIME IF THE COOLING FAN FAILS TO OPERATE.THE COOLING FAN RELAY OR FUSE IS BAD.ALSO THE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR IS OPEN.THE COOLANT FAN WONT TURN ON.TO HELP YOU PIN POINT YOUR PROBLEM.GET IT SCAN.IT WILL TELL YOU IF THE COOLING FAN CIRCUIT IS WORKING OR YOU HAVE A BAD COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR.YOU NEED THESE TWO COMPONENTS TO GET YOUR COOLING FAN TO OPERATE AUTOMATIC AGAIN.

My radiator fan does not work under any conditions, all fuses ok, wondering which relay is it to check conditions, thanks

Here are the cooling system diagnostic steps...First does the cooling fan kick on (with engine hot)? If not, check the fuse, if good then check the thermoswitch in the radiator (it's about an inch and a half in diameter located on the lower part of the radiator with two wires ) by disconnecting the wires and touching them together (again, with engine hot...at least 190 degrees) if the fan comes on, you have a bad switch. If not connect a 10 gauge jumper wire from the battery to the fan itself (there are three terminals,,, one high, one low and ground). With power direct from the battery (and a ground wire, if necessary) fan should run... if not replace the fan assembly... if it does run then you have a bad cooling fan relay. It will be located above the fuses on the fuse block... Hope this helps...;-)

Cooling fans not coming on/1995 cadillac eldorado

there is a relay panel under the hood with your engine cooling fan relay inside, a 12 dollar part, sounds to me like this relay may need to be replaced. There will be a diagram in your owners manual telling you exactly where it is located in your car. It should be noted that this relay has to be activated before the current reaches any fuse inside the cars fuse panel so your fan fuses can all be good but if the relay is not working the engine cooling fans will not come on. Be careful of dealerships I had one tell me it was a 3000 dollar wiring problem when it was only the relay.

2003 malibu cooling fans don't work. I have replace the relay and the temp sensor and still nothing. When ever I disconnect the temp sensor the fans come on and work normally, but later in the day I see...

okay pull the temp sensor connector ( disconnect it) and turn car on if the fans run then its the temp sensor.... part # wt3000.
Theres also 3 relays that turn the fans on in the fuse box cooling mode fan relay @15 which is part number 7234. and cooling one # 1 which is 3604, and cooling fan #2 which is 7236.
I have the same car...give me a fan clutch cooling system anyway of the week. simple and efective no problems.
