2002 land rover discovery vibration

I have a vibration when accelerating but then it will stop as soon as i let my foot off the gas. i changed all the u joints in the drive shaft and 4 new tires but still same problem. i was told it could also be the rubber coupling at the end of the rear driveshaft or the ball kit in the front drive shaft going bad...any suggestions, im tired of throwing money at something when i have no clue what it is!!

SOURCE: What is the estimated cost

Hi,

The hourly price and time employed to replace the ball joints may vary.

In USA the price to replace the four ball joints ranges from about $500 to $1000 .

A single ball joint for discovery can cost between $35 and $80, depending on model. The set will be less expensive, costing between $100 and $150. Here a list: land rover discovery ball joints.

After replacing the ball joints, the mechanic must do alignment procedure. Depending on the garage, this may be billed separately.

Suggested Solution 2002 Land Rover Discovery Series II Logo Problem with 2002 Discovery Series II Starts fine when cold, after running dies on idle then wont start 2002 land rover discovery, starts fine...

The ignition system is controlled by the ECM. Check power at fuse box in on right side under dash. Check fuses right side engine compartmentlower dash panel if all OK check power to ECM located right side "A" pillar in alloy box. this unit could be faulty if no spark at coils, assuming they have been connected correctly. may have to get tested for codes at L/R dealer or someone with test tool. Another source of problem may well be flat battery in transponder key. The indicator light on the dash willflash rapidly for 10 seconds if the vehicle has been unlocked with the remote and the drivers door is opened if the battery in remote is getting low

My 2000 Land Rover Discovery II doesn't start unless I manually give it gas from the foot pedal. It seems that once the truck runs, it doesn't idle and stalls when I release the foot pedal. There are 2...

The second cable should be for cruise control. Your problem sounds like either a vacuum leak (air entering the engine unmeasured by the air sensor), or fuel vapor in the fuel rail. A vacuum leak can be determined by spraying starting fluid at the air intake hoses, plenum, and connections while the engine is idyling and noting where the engine accelerates to determine where the vacuum is leaking (unmetered air is entering) from. Tighten or replace gasket, hose, seals etc. Bleed the air on the fuel rail if needed with care.

2002 Land Rover Discovery starts but idles rough. accelerates but bucks at cruising speed. solid service engine light at a stop. flashing service engine light when moving....it feels like it's loading...

BAD spark! check plugs wires and coil packs. the wires are a real pain to replace because of the location of the coil packs between the intake manifold and firewall.

Sounds like the fuel filter is dirty and needing to be changed. It's cheap and easy to swap out.
