Question about 2004 Mazda RX-8

My car drives shaky

When I drive my RX8 2004 for a while it starts to drive shaky. When i come to a stop it will cut off. It will not start right back up. It only happens when I drive it 30 min or so. The check engine light has come on and went off several times It doesn't stay on but a day or two and goes off for a couple of days. The first code was the thermistat and the light now says its the stenoid something. I had the thermistat fist and the hose. I took it to the dealer for repairs they first fix the stenoid something and it sill was doing the same thing. So i took it back the next day and they kept it for 4 days and called today to stated they fix the coils and replaced sparks plugs. I asked will this solve the problem they said YES. But they said that after fixing the stenoid that was a $40 part and charged $495 to fix it. What does the coils and sparks plug fix what do they have to do with what the car is doing? I want my car to run correctly HELP

The coil pack replacement will fix your problem. whats happening is the coils are arcing and grounding out. not enough voltage going to the plugs. its an easy job to do, will cost a lot less than a repair shop. but no warranty to follow.but its a good idea to replace plugs and wires while youre at it. your plugs might be fouled due to coil failure.and high resistance could occur in wires. so all together youre looking to spend around 500 in parts if youre willing to do it yourself. and i wouldnt go with cheap parts either. either oem or performance. cheap aftermarket parts will only hurt your car.

This may be dirty injectors, tune ups are pretty rare unless the mileage is approaching 100000

Check the ignition coil or coil packs. It sounds like overheating coil(s)

My car cuts off at times right after it is cranked. At other times when stopped at a stop light but starts back up. Also, when driving it is hesitating and jerking.

It sounds like you have a bad MAF (Mass Airflow Sensor). This is in your air inlet tube, pull this out and check to see if there is any corrosion on it. If is one that has a coiled exposed wire, then ensure that the wire is not broke.

My car will start and then after a minute or two of running, the car will idle down and cut off but I can start it right up again and still get the same results. Whenever I put it into gear to drive it...

Sounds like a possible clogged fuel filter or bad fuel pump. The system provides and initial extra pressure to pressurize the system then pump pressure drops to normal. If pressure is low or filter clogged decreasing available volume the symptoms you describe are the result.
